Find a variety of Reading Resources- Books, Tips & More, Audio Books, Educational and Children’s Books & resources.
This “reading resource” page is sure to come in handy. You’ll find tips, tricks, books by age references and more. Remember to make time to read. Teach a child to hold a book in their hands. Let them experience the adventures that leap off of every page they turn. Let them choose books that appeal to their age group and you’ll be giving them a “forever treasure”. Audio books are wonderful too.
Do you have an architect in the making? Does your child enjoy drawing? Want to teach symmetry? If you answered Yes to any of these questions then our New Release, Make Buildings, is the perfect book for you.
Wednesday March 30, 2016 is National Pencil Day
Happy National Pencil Day!
Who remembers click pencils with refillable lead sticks? I can vividly recall the sound of the pencil sharpener by the door as a child cranked the handle. Now in my adult years my first thought is working in the elementary school during testing days where we’ll over 1000 #2 pencils get sharpened and passed out.
There are lots of activity books, puzzle books, and coloring books in our online catalog. The website is in comments if you’d like to check them out. Great for Road Trips this summer!
Some children require adaptations to be independent readers. These are page “fluffers.” Using Pompoms, paper clip, or other object and affix it to each page to enable tiny hands to turn the pages more easily. If you’re in a preschool environment, use glue for a permanent alteration. If the books are in your home try double sided tape or command strips for a stronger hold. I love the idea of “fluffers” and allowing little explorers more freedom and independence.
A BEST SELLER! Two year old can “read” this book by themselves due to its repetitive text. They enjoy making the animals feel better with a bandage and a kiss. The board book and stickers are very durable. After 6 months we’ve had zero issues with the bandages staying put.
“Pop Up” Books- Kids LOVE Pop Up Books and this one is beautiful! Look at that butterfly in a field of flowers. Gorgeous! The details of garden stakes to label the vegetables is just phenomenal. Teach your children about planting and gardening through an educational book then let them plant their own garden. If you don’t have space a flower pot will do. See the excitement on their faces as the first sprout appears in the soil and grows into a full size plant.
How neat is this? Our grand children just LOVE these books. They can’t wait to go to bed with their flashlight to read.
“Shine-A-Light Series” and we now have 6 books in this series. They have been SO popular and loved that they keep coming out with more! They are so fun and educational, too. Your children will learn about different habitats and Eco systems along with seasons, construction, and trains. You and your kids will have a blast reading these together!
