Country Music History originated in the Southern United States in the 1920s. It’s a genre of American popular music born from the genre of American folk music and Western music. Blues, and country music songs tell stories with ballads and dance. Instruments used for making country music are wash boards, banjos, electric and acoustic guitars, fiddles as well as harmonicas.
The term country music is used today to describe many styles and sub-genres. From the folk music of mostly white, working-class Americans, popular songs were blended together. Everything from Irish and Celtic fiddle tunes, traditional ballads, and cowboy songs help create the sound and musical traditions of country music. (courtesy of Wikipedia)
I think country music is going to stay around, for as long as there’s a story to tell, country music will find a way to share it. Get your daily dose of Country Music History today!
